Who you are

You can stand in a house after somebody has died and be useful. Sorting, deciding, handing things to strangers who will never know what any of it meant. Grief does not make you hoard and it does not make you empty the place into a skip either, and what you keep, you keep for a reason you can say out loud. Families call you when the worst has happened.

You have known since you were young roughly what a life comes down to in the end, and it has made you unusually calm about possessions and unusually clear about people. You can release something that mattered without deciding, in order to make it easier on yourself, that it never mattered. Very few people manage both halves of that.
