What we collect
When you create an account, we store your email, name, and (if provided by your sign-in provider) your profile image. When you interact with the site — comments, likes, follows, bookmarks, direct messages — that activity is stored against your account.
How we use it
- To authenticate you and keep your session active.
- To show your posts, comments, and profile to other readers.
- To send notifications about replies, follows, and other activity.
- To send the newsletter, if you subscribe.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your personal data with third parties.
- We don't use third-party advertising or analytics tracking.
- We don't track you across other sites.
Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We also store a small theme preference in your browser's local storage. That's it.
Data retention & deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. Email hello@realityawake.com with the subject "Account deletion" and we'll process it within 30 days.
Third-party services
- Google & LinkedIn OAuth — for sign-in. They see your email and basic profile info; we get back what you authorize.
- AWS SES — for sending magic-link sign-in emails and the newsletter.
