Who you are

You notice the question nobody in the room has asked. Everyone is busy debating the options on the table and you are the one who says we have not established whether this is the right problem, which is annoying at the time and correct about a week later. It slows things down and it saves whole years.

You can hold something open longer than most people can bear. Where others reach for any answer just to stop the discomfort, you are willing to sit with not knowing for months, including about your own life. You also refuse to hand out false comfort. If somebody asks whether it will be fine, you will not say yes unless you think so.
