Who you are

You ask because you want to know, not to be polite. Where does that road go, why is that rule there, what happened to the person who used to run this place. Most people accept the world as presented. You keep pulling gently at the edges of it, and half of what you now know came from asking someone a question they had never been asked.

You go into new places lightly, without much ceremony, and you take other people with you. Friends have jobs, hobbies and whole cities in their lives because you wandered in first and reported back that it was fine. Nothing about you is reckless. You simply do not assume that permission is required, and you are usually right.

Take other people through the doors with you. Your real value is not what you discover, it is that you come back and tell somebody who thought they were not allowed. Go inward once as well. The one part of your own life you have never examined is the one worth your curiosity most.
