Who you are

You are the person friends come to when two versions of the same argument both sound convincing. You listen to one, then the other, and you do not pretend the truth sits neatly in the middle. Your work is to decide and then stand behind it. Do the thinking once, say the answer plainly, and accept that you will sometimes be wrong in front of people. A fair verdict delivered late helps nobody. Judgment is only a gift when someone can actually use it.
