Who you are

You were born on the day the light and the dark hold equal measure, and it shows in how you run a table. You notice who has not spoken. You hear the credit going to the wrong person. You feel the imbalance physically, before you could explain it, and Venus makes the correcting pleasant enough that people rarely notice it is happening to them.

You do not just admire fairness, you go and make it. You start the conversation nobody wanted to start, seat the person nobody seated, ask the question that lets the quieter half of the room speak. What you have had very little practice at is counting yourself as one of the seats. You will divide a room evenly and leave your own name off it.

Fairness becomes a way of never stating a preference, until nobody, including you, can say what you want. Balance is not the same thing as absence.

Keep making rooms where both halves get the same hour, and put your own chair in the room. Say what you want before you weigh up what everybody else wants. A fair share includes yours, and both sides have to be present for it to work.
