Who you are

You hold what you are given and you do not put it down anywhere. Someone tells you about the affair, or the diagnosis, or the money, and a week later they realise with relief that nothing has changed in how anyone treats them. That is you. In the bad hour you are the person who turns up. Not with advice. With a car, a bed, a cup of tea and no questions at all.
